the great sink debate
we are back home. i would say i am glad, but it was sure nice to be away from this mess for awhile. the floors look great, so we are now shopping for dog booties. how do you keep your floors scratch free? is it possible? i might just go to town on them myself for the distressed look. i like to be pro-active.
our sink is in. boy, what a stress ball that was. holly and i e-mailed a few times with our challenges. she has a similar sink and had some good advice. you see, that big lip is supposed to go over your counter top. but the builder convinced me this would be a much better placement. i think i agree with him, but he isn't finished yet, so i can't be positive. decisions, decisions.
happy saturday! :)

I have sink envy!
These are the kind of stresses that are the good kind. I always amaze myself at how stressed I will get over something house related, then I'm ashamed of myself later when I hear a tragic story happening to a friend.
I love the sink! Can't wait to see everything finished! I think I'm gonna have to get one of those someday. Right now, I'm stressing about my outdoor room....... :)
The sink looks beautiful! I like it like that with the lip like it is. Just my humble opinion. As for the floors...I don't have a dog, so I can't give any advice. BUT, I personally love distressed wood floors. If you decide to speed up the process yourself, you are welcome to the use of my new tap shoes I got for Christmas! hehe! :o)
That looks amazing, I like how you kept the counter more shallow to fit the sink I have seen others do wierd things because of that type of sink. The marble looks great , did people try to talk you out of using the marble? I love it , and would accept its softness for its beauty and style. Please show me what you come up with for your floors, my hardwood never scratches and I have to very playful dogs that screech around all day , however where I put pine floors in my upstairs hall they are wrecking it , maybe I should bang it up even more ?? what are we to do?

sink looks great! i too have sink envy. i have always longed for a farmhouse sink. next house. depends on what kind of floors you have, but unless you get your beloved declawed, the distressed look might be inevitable. be sure to post before and afters. can't wait to see it. ms. hot potato has told us about your house.
listen to bethy, tell the builder it's your house. whatever you decide it will be darling and wonderful. listen to bethy though, she rocks.
The sink is fab!!! I love the taps too...:)
Love the sink! Wish I had thought of one of those!
When I look at my floors, I see character. Not only Molly has contributed, but lots of others. I decided to give up and embrace the scratches! I love wood floors!

It looks so good so far!! I love how tranquil your house always feels with those soft colors. LOVE it!
I watched Celebrity Apprentice! I was already a big Trace fan, I met him years ago at the Rocky Gap Music Fesitival here in Cumberland MD. Anyway, I have even more respect for him after watching him on CA. What a great human being.
My goodness. Now THAT is a sink!
Oh, love the sink and counter top that you chose.
The ceiling looks amazing! What a huge difference, I love it all... your changes are beautiful! I wish you many cozy moments in your new spaces! dana
