- i missed sewing class yesterday. i was sad to miss it, but i had to attend a kindergarten field trip. so no new shams. bummer.
- my husband has the stomach flu. i am totally paranoid that i will get it. or worse yet, one of the children will get it - yikes!
- it is getting hot outside. i am a summer person, but i am not quite in the mood for a swimsuit.
- tomorrow is my daughter's last day of kindergarten. i'm trying to deny it, but the truth is, it makes me very sad.
- my refrigerator is a northstar for those of you who asked.
- my birthday is coming up. i am still 33.
- have you been watching the view? my goodness.
- i am charging my camera right now. i want to show you something i got at target.

I didn't see The View but I heard about it. So much drama for morning tv!
Hope you and the kids can avoid the flu bug...
What a small world. We are about 30 min. from Annapolis and went to school at University of MD!! Before moving here we lived in Bethesda, MD. My two dear friends live in Northern VA.
I agree with you about the antiquing in Leesburg. Have you been to Lucketts (another favorite).
We are the same age! and my oldest is about to "graduate" from kindergarten too. I can't believe it. But my 2nd starts K in the fall...so we start over again.
I want to see what you bought at Target!
hi katherine! my second technically could start...but we are keeping him back a year. how far apart are yours?
Congratulations to the little graduate and a happy (early) birthday to you! :)
My daughter's last day of preschool is tomorrow! I'm very sad. I know I will cry at her little graduation next week. Where did the time go?
In regards to your sick hubby: My husband says I am the meanest person when he is sick, but it's because I obsess over not getting what he has. I practically follow him around with Lysol, wash my hands like crazy and clean practically every surface he touches.
Oh, Bethy...NEVER grow up! I LOVE the phone. I looked at PB teen and they said they're no longer available. There are a few on ebay, though. I NEED one. I'm sad about my kids growing up too. So sad. I cry. I'm ridiculous.
Love XOXO
Holly
Oh I must know... when is your birthday? Are you a Gemini too?!!!
Love your silverware! I've bought the dishes and adore them! They're so cheerful and reminded me of Cath Kidston as well. I just turned 33 and my youngest is finishing kindergarten! Hmmm...
I just love your blog ,I started a new blog a few weeks ago, I thought you might enjoy it's called

My youngest is graduating from middle school soon...I know that feeling, whre has time gone.
The stomach flu is going around here too. I hope I don't get it!
Have a great weekend.
I *heart* that silverware! I bet it will look right at home on your table.
We also have the last day of kindergarten quicly appoaching and I'm feeling a bit blue too!
I love your decorating style... you could get a job as a stylist for a magazine!
I felt the same way about my youngest leaving Kindergarten but it is so much fun to watch them grow and learn!
And good luck not getting the flu...hopefully the "mom immunity" will kick in!!!
I have that same flatware! I wash it carefully by hand because I don't want the dishwasher to wash away the colors. You'd think they were fine silver! But I love them so.
I went to Target today looking for your adorable flatware & could NOT find it! I asked but the Target "team members" had no clue what I was talking about! Ah!! What section was it in? Summer or in the flatware? Was it a specific brand?
I am 40 (!!) and my oldest just graduated from pre-school. I am soooo sad - a weird "everything's changing, they grow up so fast" feeling - probably because I loved her teachers, her friends, the other parents in the class. I'm thankful she's at a parochial school so will most likely be with a lot of the same kids next year. And of course I will get to experience it all over again in 4 years when my son goes to pre-K. Or maybe I'll be too old (and too tired!) by then to notice.
hey melissa,
i found the flatware in an aisle with ceramic dishes. the collection had plates, cereal bowls and a salad bowl with rainbow polka dots. good luck!!
oh yes, i bought the same flatware & thought cath kidston too.
go target!!! so precious.
your blogs are always so funny!
my youngest of four just finished kindergarten too...sniff sniff. they do grow up so fast. i love that precious preschool age!
i think we must have ghetto target here cuz i ain't never seen no flatware like that before. i love it, i'll be on the lookout. thanks for sharing. blessings!
Oh do I love those Target utensils!! So totally Cath K!
What fun!
Those are VERY fun...I love target. I hope your husband didn't share the flu with any of you.
Very fun! And YES I have been watching the view. Dear, dear, tsk, tsk, tsk. It's like high school all over again for grown ups. Celebrity grown ups.
I am going to Target RIGHT now. Those are perfect for my vintage picnic baskets.
Hey there! Love the kiddie silverware.
My littlest just finished kindergarten too. I'm in mourning. Surprising really since I was soooo looking forward to NOT having to dash off everyday at noon to pick her up. But Waldorf Kindergarten is such a magical, wonderful place that I don't want it to end for her. Really I don't want it to end for me!! LOL.
I'm turning 33 this year. At least it's an aesthetically pleasing, if slightly depressing, number.
Cheers! and Blessings!
