plume bleu
recently, i have gotten some questions about paint colors. this room is painted with french general's fantastic plume bleu. but be aware, i have learned this year the importance of lighting! maybe because this house has so many windows in some rooms and very few in others, but i have seen colors change from room to room that i would never have believed had i not witnessed it with my own eyes. the great thing about french general is they sell sample paint cards and adorable sample paint pots. when you know what you want, they will ups the gallons of paint from their store in california right to your door.

This room looks so pretty. You are making me want to start keeping fresh flowers out on my coffee table.

hi meg, you wouldn't believe these daisies. i actually touched them yesterday to see if someone was playing a joke on me and replaced them with plastic ones. i can't believe how perfect they still look, it has been weeks! i didn't even use the packet of food for the water. gotta love daisies. :)

jo,
i have not yet purchased the book, but i plan to, i will let you know.

Speaking of paint, what type of paint should I use for wicker? And can I expect it to chip if I paint white over gray for kitchen chairs that are used daily? Thanks so much. Love this room.

hi sugar,
i always use spray paint (satin finish or semi-gloss) on my wicker, but you could hand paint it if you wanted to.

you really should only run into chipping issues when you paint a latex- based paint over an oil-based paint. to test, take a cotton ball doused in rubbing alcohol and wipe the existing paint. if the paint comes off, it is latex, if it doesn't it is oil.

That's a real room? Not a catalog photo? Beautiful! Love it!
The couch is close to the one I found at a yard sale. Except it's butter cream yellow. The lady was going on and on about it being a Michell Gold....??? Since I shop so cheaply, I missed that brand. :)
So, now I have my very own silpcovered buttercream couch and chair. I'll let you know when I finally take photos.
You're style rocks!
