she's fresh
this came on the truck today at pier1, and i picked it up before it even went in the store. she's very pretty, i think. the malibar chairs that were once in this place have been painted a stone green and now reside on the porch. this light color weave goes much better with the curtains and the blues that surround it.
i'm still painting every day. everything i had made pink is now going gray. i have never had to paint things over and over again like this before. good thing we are still having the perfect weather for it. i am actually enjoying the work.

That is a gorgeous chair! I took a stroll though your whole blog yesterday and I so love your style. You have a lot of the same taste I do, but I'm forced to decorate in a manner that a family full of boys would enjoy as well.
How much longer will you be painting? Are you so sick of it yet? I bet it will look great when you're done.

I have been painting furniture for what seems like forever. I have one Pier 1 wicker chair that has been four different colors along with the original. I love the new one you just picked up though. There is a Pier 1 clearance center by my parents house that I may have to check out this weekend. I have not been a Pier 1 shopper for a little while but I may have to stop in again! Thanks for all of your ideas and inspiration. I am going to be posting pictures of my cottage this afternoon.

It looks terrific! Looks like it was meant to be in your corner. The pillow just makes it, too. Nice find!!

hi beth,
could you please give a little advice about this chair? i have a white denim sofa in my living room, which is neglected right now due to other projects, and i can't afford expensive chairs for that room right now, how would these chairs look with the white denim sofa and some shabby chic pillows tossed on them? All of my furniture in my house is white, and i mean all of it! So I am loving your gray ideas. I may have to do a little painting myself. I also need another chair in my fam room right now that has cream denim. Maybe the chair would look better in that room. I am headed to pier 1 tomorrow to pick up some kitchen chairs to go with my rachel ashwell pedastal table, they are the onyx arm chairs. They look almost identical to the ones from maine cottage furniture i've been drooling over the last year.Sorry for the long post, just wanted your opinion before purchase tomorrow. thanks so much. love your blog, and your beautiful home.

hi sugar,

i think this chair would be fabulous with the white or cream sofa, but the cushion is definitely cream so in the room with the white one, you would want to bring some cream color in other places of the room. rachel ashwell does most of her patterns on her pillows in the choice of white or cream, i mix the two together on my sofa so i can go white-white or cream around the room.
