my apologies and a question
i'm sorry about my random posts today, i really do think inhaling the paint (and the extra shot of espresso in my morning coffee) messed with my head a bit.

so i was wondering, what are you shopping for...you know, for your home...what are you looking for? where do you love to find your home accessories? share with me, i'd love to know.

i love cath kidston (photo above). she decorates as if we are all still kids, smart.

I am very busy with home stuff at the moment. I am helping my boyfriend with a house flip, that is painting and renovation to the max and he wants to be in and out of there in a month. So far we have completely landscaped the front and backyard, pulled up all of the wall to wall carpeting, taken all doors and trimwork down, painted and re-hung shutters, power washed the outside of the house, sanitized all of the floors, stripped all of the wall paper and borders from the upstairs three bedrooms and one bathroom as well as scrubbed all of the walls, ran electrical in rooms for lighting that did not have it and put in new lighting fixtures, sprayed all of the ceilings, painted two rooms upstairs and primed the other two and that is just in a week.

I close on my cottage October 13th and cannot wait. I went to an auction this past weekend and have been hunting for things here and there but I am never without a project of some sort. After I am actually in I am sure there will be more updates! I LOVE the Martha colors and love the color in your dining room!

i am a shabby chic freak. i have been for years. so naturally i love shabbychic.com. and if you ever need to get ideas or find some cute things not on the site the girls at the chicago location are great. they will take polaroids and send them to you. i am redoing my closet this week with some of the shabby chic stuff from target. love your home!

I like to shop at local boutiques/home accessories stores. I seem to have more luck finding things that are unique, or not quite what everyone else has. Some of my favorite things in my house have come from little shops that I love.

As for what I'm looking for right now...not sure. I am very wrapped up in outdoor accessories at the moment, with painting our house (and adding new accessories there) as well as getting our front garden started. There's a great nursery nearby that has so many fun things for the garden, I'm beginning to see why people get really into the whole thing.

Oh, and BTW, no apologies necessary! Your posts were fun to read.

Hope your painting is going well.
I really enjoy your blog and appreciate your creative ideas.
We are redoing a bedroom and bath right now. I'm going to check out the Martha line of paints!
Right now for my bathroom I'm looking for some small black and white mosaic vintage looking tile for the floor. Hope you will post pictures of the things you are painting.
Have a great weekend! Ü

I have to admit, your blog has changed my decotating style! Thank YOU for all the great ideas!
I absolutely adore the site beachdwelling.com you mentioned. I've gotten great ideas from there too. :)
I seem to get ideas from going on house tours too. Each summer there a big one out by me in the Hamptons. I never miss it!
