you what?

uwharrie. i have loved loved loved uwharrie chairs since i first saw them in a store window ten years ago. i couldn't pronounce the unusual name then, but i have learned and dreamed of someday having a big porch to put them on. well, this is the year, my friends! and the timing couldn't be more perfect - right now they are at discount prices and free shipping at adirondack-furniture-direct.com. i can't decide between the original and the nantucket styles, or the white and the island green colors. any opinions out there? help! the sale ends friday!

Oh my gosh, those are great! Now I want one of those porch swings! I first need a house with a porch though.

Both those style are great but I like the Nantucket in white. That would be a hard decision to make though. Thanks for sharing that website.

Cool...thanks for the link...I am right in the middle of trying to do a small patio myself so that I can have a firepit.

You have such amazing taste, I totally trust whatever you decide. I've always loved those kinds of chairs. Can't wait to see what you choose.

Nantucket in white!!! There is nothing more inviting than an Adirondack in the summer!
I found your blog a few weeks ago...you are inspiring...I love to paint, too!
Best,

I'm with HGM - I think the Nantucket in the white would be beautiful; or the original style. But I would go with white. It is so timeless.

But if you go with a different color and 10 years from now, you don't like it, easy enough to paint.

Ok, I just looked at the site very carefully. I don't think you can make a bad choice. But it seems like you are more of a "Nantucket" "white" gal. Very cute!! Looking forward to hearing what you decide!

Never saw an uwharrie chair before!

My husband makes Adirondack chairs. And I thought the style he makes, was 'it.' But there must be different styles. Live and learn. :-)

But, he prefers the one he makes. :-) Says it's more comfortable than the uwharrie. -grin-

I liked the apple green wash, the mint green wash, and the white wash. I can see why you love them!

I have 4 white - however, I must say that I LOVE the rustic one in the photo you posted...hard decision because they aren't cheap and these are things that you will have them for many years! Keep us posted on your decision...

Nantucket in white. But I don't think you could go wrong either way.

Where are all your lovely links in your sidebar? I miss them!?! Wish I'd written some down!

Happy Sunday!

I just love your blog, what great taste you have. I love the chairs you are talking about. I met the lady who designed them for Uwharrie Chair Company many years ago. These chairs will last a lifetime, I have had some adirondacks from them for over 10 years now and they are like new.
