wall paper on the ceiling?
a loyal reader (now friend) asked me if i had ever seen wallpaper on the ceiling. interesting, your timing, my dear! yes - and i love it! one of the most beautifully decorated places i have EVER seen is bedford springs resort. it re-opened last year after being lovingly restored. the details are to die for! i took so many pictures, my husband had to stop me. i was driving him crazy!
here are a few for you...

i love it. i'm thinking plain walls, formal dining room, wallpaper on the ceiling. i doubt the man in charge around here will go for it. though i did go get the silver sage paint swatch from RH saturday. really. a cool color. you weren't lying. love you! keep posting. blessings!

So glad to see you back at...or at least until you figure out what to do! :)
So glad to see you're back! I was one who thought you didn't add me to your list and was SO disappointed! I had almost deleted you from my blogs list but thought I would check one more time and there you were! Welcome back--I'm glad you changed your mind:)
Love the wallpapered ceiling. Are you thinking about trying this somewhere? I just keep thinking about how hard it would be to put up (arms and neck--ugh!).

I really like the wallpaper on the ceiling but before seeing it in that pic, I would have turned my nose to it!
The first pic looks so much like Bedford Resort in PA with all those porches?

The wallpaper on the ceiling really is beautiful. My arms would hurt so bad if I did that. Leave it to the professionals. I love wallpaper but my sweetie does not. Whats wrong with him? hehe.
Alright Miss Bethy--you need to come out of hiding and give me help...I need to buy a new house! Miss you,
Kim
I am THRILLED to see you blogging again. I went through serious sadness when you signed off for a while.
I have a random decorating question. I'm looking for living room rug for my home. Where do you get your rugs besides the usual suspects of Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware?
Pleasant surprise!!! I am so excited! I just checked back in just to be sure that you were "really gone" and I'm so glad I did! I honestly felt like I had lost a friend when I saw that you went to private. Thank you for being so graciously open.
LOVE wallpaper on the ceiling.
Hello! I hope I can be invited to your lovely blog. It is a pleasure to read and look at.
Jen
Ps. I think we have a lot in common, I am a teacher and have a compulsion to paint everything cream and blue.
ahh! before you go & become private please add me to your list.

looks beautiful, thanks for sharing!
GORGEOUS!!
M ^..^
Count me among those who thought they hadn't been invited.
I love your blog and have been reading it for a long time. Cottage Bethy was in my informal top five ( or so ) blogs that I would check in with every time I went online.
When you went offline I was surprised at the sense of loss I felt. I had to tell myself - "You don't even 'know' this person!" (smile)
I don't live to log on. . . I have a husband, three kids, two dogs and have just returned to teaching full time. I'm involved in church and at my kid's school.
I have a life. . . and I guess that was what surprised me. . . in some small way your blog was a part of my life and when it was gone I missed it.
This a.m. I was at Freckled Farm and saw your name in her sidebar.
I don't even know why I clicked on it but what a surprise!
I hope you find the balance you are looking for between public and private. For now I will just enjoy our posts and welcome back!
