here she is
some folks asked to see my new kitchen.  here is a rather fuzzy photo i just took with my phone. thought you could get the idea even with the fuzz.  :)
we were not looking to do a huge expensive project, so the change is not that drastic...but i like it so much better.  looks more like a farmhouse should, i think.  i had to have a view from my sink, so we made an inside window.

we have marble counters and a beadboard backsplash.  someone asked about that.  so there you go :)  happy friday!

Love your kitchen-great job! I bet you love being in there as it has such a great "feel" to it from the photos. I too have a "window" in my kitchen that looks into my living room (with shutters also)--although I didn't think of doing the 1/2 shutters like you did--are they blue? (I can't really tell on my screen). I would love to see more close up photos of some of your great details like your backsplash and your sink and curtain underneath. If I'm remembering correctly, didn't you also add a room above your family/living room--are you happy with how that has turned out?

Enjoy your beautiful kitchen!

I think your kitchen looks so homey, and fresh. I'm in the middle of a re-do/facelift so seeing kitchens that are finished encourages me to keep up my work. We'll be adding a beadboard backsplash as well, but I'm not sure what to put on my counters.
I hope you are enjoying your day.

I absolutely love your kitchen! Is the refrigerator a reproduction or is it an original?

Oh I love the fridge and the size of the island. I like how the blue shutters infront of the sink balance the blue fridge. Great job!

Take Care,
Lisa

P.S. I noticed your next post talks about making your blog private. Does that mean I will no longer be able to read your lovely blog?

I love, love, love your house! We have the same taste!
I'm getting ready to redo my kitchen and I too love carrara marble, but have been warned against using it in the kitchen. How has yours held up?

Just curious....I read in one of your past blogs that you were going to Cottage Chic so I'm assuming you're in either Pinehurst or Charlotte.... I'm in Charlotte and I shop there too!

Please post more pics of your kitchen! It's beautiful!
