color crisis
i know i mentioned doing a brown christmas. i love brown. even more than blue...i think. okay, maybe not as much as blue. but maybe the same as blue. oh, who knows. i love blue and i love brown. so, i have noticed as i am starting to do my brown christmas, the blue just keeps popping up more and more. so, now i am confused. you see, as much as i love blue and brown, i don't really love them together. unless it is a very muted gray blue. and look at that ribbon above - that is not muted. that is like practically turquoise. oh, and i just love turquoise. and if i am going to do turquoise, doesn't pink look nice with turquoise? and pink is my absolute favorite color ever. so maybe christmas should be brown, gray blue, turquoise and pink. but that doesn't all go together. and you know what i really love? cream. a cream christmas is so perfect. our wedding was near christmas and it was all ivory cream. oh, and i just thought that was so beautiful. so i just don't know what i am going to do!

my son saw some ornaments displayed at target yesterday. they were all separated by color. they had blues, beiges, browns, whites and pinks. he stopped in front of the red and green section and said, wow! i really like red and green! poor child. he has the wrong mother :)

you're always making me laugh out loud!
i can relate though--my girls think the whole " i'm dreaming of a white christmas" is such a snore!
i used to go wild with red...red everywhere--red gingham, red pokadot, red toile, red kitchen...crazy with red.
maybe its just my life is too busy & i need to be less stimulated!
diggin the brown and blue but aggree with the tones...so many choices.
keep us posted.

It sounds like you've a little bit of caffine today! ;) Am I right?

How about Cream and Brown and throw in the blue ribbon here and there. Maybe on the cream? I don't know. You're the expert! Good luck.

oh you've got yourself a problem.
now if you just use the same ole decoratoins like me, then their is no choice year to year. :) I am SO tired of some of the decorations I have.
I say go with the cream and mix a bit of brown and blue. But the pink with the blue????? might look like a baby shower (or a baby wash as my son would say)......I guess it kind of is.

I'll take that adorable little boy of yours and he would be perfectly happy in the red and green chaos I have going on right now at my house! So far, I have lots of decorations but no tree to put them on at the moment. Maybe tomorrow!

I know!!
This year I want to change things up a bit but my Christmas decor has been red and white for so long....
You know what? You have inspired me... I am going to choose new colors this year...now, what will they be?
I love your turquoise ribbon - for you! It would not go with my navy couch. But for you, I have seen turquoise, tans and browns used together in clothing for quite a stylish look.
Have fun! ..and keep us posted.

Poor kid! I am also not a 'green/red' xmas person - our holiday is blue, too! I think though, that in the right hands (and reading your blog, I mean *you*), a pink/blue/cream holiday would be just stunning. And a little brown to ground it.

Slow down, and take a breath...I love the colors of blue and brown together, however the blues would look great with silvers or the brown would look great with cream like Lorilu suggested. I would love to see what you decided on, I am sure it will be lovely.

where'd you get that turquoise ribbon? i like turquoise, pink and cream with sprigs of brown and jute colors mingled in there every so slightly. my opinion.

Ha! Tell your poor son to come join my children because my house tends to be red and green all year round!!! Now that I see your blue, I'm thinking.... this is why I can't decide on paint colors for these walls!!!!

You just give me such a giggle.
I tried the blue and white and silver one year. *I* loved it, the kids did not.
Last year I did browns and coppers and golds. *I* loved it, the kids did not.
This year I am back to the red and white and green. They love it and, well, I do to. I guess I am just a flibberdigibbit.

But I do so love blue and I love brown and I adore them together.

Hugs,
Sue
