quiet
i'm still playing the alphabet game. anyone else? i'm so slow!
my children are starting to get fussy on me. i know they are tired. these early mornings with school and homework, it is just too much sometimes - but i'm tired too! so sometimes i just join in. tonight i just said we are going to be quiet. no talking. none. just do your homework, eat your dinner, and clean up....QUIETLY. it was wonderful. what took me so long to think that up?
i did not get a new room in my house. this is the room that you see in my "about me" photo. i'm just trying something new. i want some curtains, but don't know what yet. lisa sent me a seamstress referral that i hope to use. lisa, do you have a blog yet? :)

No, no blog yet! Maybe someday who knows! I have always wanted to change my kitchen eating area to look like yours with a comfy sofa or daybed. Our kitchen areas have very similar windows. I think the table looks great too. We just tend to eat at the kitchen island a lot with our on the go kids! Good luck with the curtains. I know you will be pleased!
Oh I am in love with that room as is. So tranquil and calming. We are all worn out here too. Today when I felt a multi-member meltdown coming on, I moved us all out onto the front porch and fixed my self a cup of Earl Grey tea and just enjoyed being outside in the breeze, watching the kids play...
Wow! I love that room. It's really very beautiful, and fits the quiet mood.
lets hear it for a quiet time every day!
love what you did with the space
hi friend! it's nice to "hear your voice"...haven't heard much about the jobarooni...your room is bee-you-tee-ful as always! take care. email me some time. i may start the alphabet game when i get more time...it's fun! blessings! oh, and LOVE the quiet idea. i'll be implementing it shortly...may not work with a 3-month-old though. bye!
Bethy you pictures are so beautiful ~ always! i think this quiet thing might work even if you only have a husband and a dog. :) thanks for the tip.
It's a wonderful room!

What a beautiful room! It does fit the quiet mood indeed :)
TAG! You are it girly!
That step stool that she's sitting on brings back memories...we had one when I was little.
That room is so beautiful with all of those windows and versatile too. You are a lucky girl!
I only finished my ABCs few days ago. I also posted about "Q for Quiet." It really is a treasure in this crowded and noisy world, isn't it?
Hi, I just wanted to say I love your blog. My kitchen looks very similiar to yours, and I have the same seat/chair/stool that your daughter is sitting in.....I think I will move it to the Kitchen too.:) Can you tell me where you got the cute sign sitting in the window....love it. I have done quiet time for awhile...usually happens after dinner...it can be a beautiful thing! Thanks for all the inspiration! Annie
I love this space. I am constantly rearranging furniture. My hubby never know what he is going to find when he comes home from work!
Good Morning!! I am very new to blogging, but came across yours and have to say I absolutely love it! Your home is breath-taking! You have an amazing talent.
Could you please tell me if your house is the Homestead, by William Poole?? (I have to ask since my boyfriend is currently building our dreamhouse and that is the plan that we chose) If so, I hope I can make ours look as beautiful as yours. It's so peaceful and serene.
I really really like the change, it has a very 'farm house' feel, but not too country. The table is wonderful, makes me want to do homework. :)
